TITLE: ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR (HSE - High School Equivalency / ABE)Part-Time, Hourly Position, Up to 19 hours weeklyAnticipated class schedule: To be determined.Location: To be determined.DUTIES:• Perform student intakes and interviews.• Access abilities of students using TABE tests.• Teach Adult Basic Education (ABE), High School Equivalency (HSE) & Adult Secondary Education (ASE) levels, as testing indicates.• Plan and deliver group/individual lessons at appropriate levels.• Integrate technology into planning and instruction.• Monitor and document student progress using prescribed State ASISTS data base and National Reporting System guidelines.• Maintain accurate attendance and student records as required by NYSED and NRS.• Assess readiness for TASC examination through the Official Practice Test.• Participate in a minimum of 14 hours of professional development annually & attend required staff mtgs.• Other pertinent duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelors or Master’s Degree, New York State Teaching Certification and three years’ experience teaching adults is preferred. Must possess or obtain NYS Adult Literacy Certification within 3 months of appointment.START DATE: September 16, 2024SALARY: $33.01 per/hour. (Work up to 19 hours per week.)
