The district is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced High School Mathematics Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics education, a commitment to fostering problem-solving and mathematical reasoning, and the ability to engage students in meaningful and rigorous learning experiences. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Valid NYS teaching license or certification in Mathematics Education (7-12). Experience teaching higher level courses such as Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, AP courses preferred. Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts, instructional strategies, and technology integration in math education. Knowledge of current best practices in mathematics instruction, including conceptual understanding, mathematical discourse, and problem-based learning. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Responsibilities: Develop and implement an engaging mathematics curriculum aligned with state standards and best practices for middle and high school students. Promote mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and productive struggle by engaging students in discussion, justification of thinking, and collaborative learning. Collaborate with colleagues in the mathematics department and across disciplines to design cohesive instruction and align curriculum with district goals and New York State learning standards. Participate in professional learning communities to analyze student work, share instructional strategies, and support continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Utilize hands-on learning, real-world applications, and technology to enhance student understanding of mathematical concepts. Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with special needs and advanced learners. Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing feedback and support for student growth. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and a growth mindset. Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and attendance. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational research, instructional strategies, and mathematics education trends.
