Elementary Assistant Principal Taconic Hills CSD is seeking a collaborative, student-centered educational leader to serve as Assistant Principal at the elementary level. The Assistant Principal works closely with the building principal to support a positive school culture, promote high-quality instruction, and ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. This role includes responsibilities related to instructional leadership, student support, staff collaboration, and day-to-day school operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, a commitment to equity and student success, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families. Taconic Hills values collaborative leadership and provides opportunities for administrators to grow as instructional leaders while supporting a close-knit school community. Qualifications New York State School Building Leader (SBL) or School District Leader (SDL) certification. Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field. Successful teaching experience at the elementary level preferred. Demonstrated leadership experience in curriculum, instruction, or school initiatives. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of NYS learning standards, assessment practices, and effective instructional strategies. Experience supporting inclusive practices and working with diverse learners. Responsibilities Support the implementation of high-quality instruction aligned with New York State learning standards. Monitor and support teachers to ensure that programs, curriculum, and instructional resources are delivered with fidelity, aligning instruction with district standards, evidence-based practices, and student needs. Collaborate with the principal and instructional staff to promote effective teaching practices and student achievement. Participate in classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to support teacher growth. Assist in the coordination and implementation of professional development initiatives. Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive school culture for students and staff. Support the implementation of PBIS, restorative practices, and social-emotional learning initiatives. Address student behavior and discipline in a fair and developmentally appropriate manner. Build strong relationships with students and families to support student success. Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families to support student learning and well-being. Participate in building leadership teams and school improvement planning. Communicate effectively with families and the broader school community. Assist with the daily management of school operations including scheduling, supervision, and student activities. Support the coordination of safety procedures, drills, and building operations. Ensure compliance with district policies and state and federal regulations. Participate in district leadership initiatives and professional learning. Support school improvement efforts aligned with district priorities. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
