Duties Description For a three-month period, over the summer session, Summer Teaching Assistants will: Under the supervision of a certified teacher, provide direct instructional services to students utilizing lesson plans, tests and teaching aids developed by a certified teacher. Reinforce subject matter previously taught by a teacher by guiding students through a prescribed and frequently repetitive learning exercise. Administer, proctor and correct tests. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current certificate issued by the NYS Education Department in one of the following: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate; OR Pre-Professional Teaching Assistant Certificate; OR Continuing Certificate as a Teaching Assistant; OR Provisional, Initial, Permanent, or Professional Teacher Certificate.
