Under direct supervision, performs skilled work in the operation of automotive equipment and performs a variety of manual tasks in connection with such operation. Does related work as required.RESPONSIBILITIESOperates a truck in connection with the hauling of school district equipment and supplies.Operates a truck to transport workmen, tools and other equipment.Operates a snow plow or related snow removal equipment.Operates motorized lawn mowing equipment.Performs minor mechanical repairs on automotive equipment.Services assigned vehicle and maintains it in clean condition.Loads and unloads trucks.Performs a variety of simple manual tasks.FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIESGood knowledge of the operation of trucks and other types of automotive equipment.Good knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the safety precautions necessary in the operation of equipment.Ability to make emergency repairs and to assist in making general repairs on motor driven equipment.Ability to understand and carry out simple oral and written instructions.Good physical condition.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSGraduation from grade school and one year of experience in the operation of some type of automotive equipment; or satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTPossession of a valid New York State Operator's or Chauffeur's License appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.Qualified candidates should apply via OLAS with a resume to: Isha Morgenstern, Executive Director of Human Resources, Syosset Central School District, P.O.
