IN ADDITION TO APPLYING ON OLAS, TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION PROCESS PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE AT :https://www.swboces.org/JoinOurTeamPRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Helps develop and implement systems to assure qualified and certified officials are assigned for all interscholastic contests for participating districts.Assist in overseeing and evaluating staff as required within the Office of Interscholastic Athletics and make recommendations relating to transfers, promotions, discipline and layoffs.Assist un maintaining Section-wide athletic databases, including the oversight of data entry as it relates to game changes, assignment of officials, ratings of officials and entering of game results.Help develop systems which monitor and evaluate the services rendered by athletic officials to each participating school district.Work collaboratively with participating districts and assist in communicating and implementing changes in policy, procedure and/or regulation.Serve as a chairperson and/or liaison to various Section One sub-committees.Serve as a resource and consultant to school districts in the expansion of athletic opportunities for all student-athletes.Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of in-service courses for Athletic Directors, Administrative Assistants, coaches and athletic officials.Develop expertise in the utilization of technology platforms (ex. social media, website) that support the goals and vision of the Center for Interscholastic Athletics.Assist in overseeing the conduct and sportsmanship of interscholastic athletic programs in participating school districts.Help prepare and administer the program budget within the adopted guidelines.Assist school districts in problem-solving various areas in interscholastic athletics and developing strategies for effecting solutions.Help coordinate the development of all athletic events scheduling in conjunction with local Athletic Directors.Assist in the planning, coordination and supervision of Section One Championship and NYSPHSAA Regional events.Assist Athletic Directors in the interpretation and application of Section One Operational Standards, NYSED Commissioner’s Regulations and NYSPHSAA Bylaws & Eligibility Standards.Assist in overseeing member school district’s payment plan; create billing statements; monitor accounts receivable, reconcile payments.Assist in overseeing the payment of athletic officials at the end of each sports season, acting as liaison with the Business Office to respond to questions/problems related to school district billing or payments to officials.CIVIL SERVICE QUALIFICATIONS:New York State Certification – SDLMaster’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Health, Physical Education, or related field.Ability to utilize technology to further department goals.Knowledge and/or experience as Athletic Director preferred.Understanding of NYSED Commissioner’s Regulations and NYSPHSAA Bylaws and Eligibility Standards.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.IN ADDITION TO APPLYING ON OLAS, TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION PROCESS PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE AT :https://www.swboces.org/JoinOurTeam
