The ideal candidate is an experienced general/special education/inclusion teacher and expert staff developer/coach who embraces Southern Westchester BOCES’ mission, is passionate about professional learning, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. The Supervisor of Teaching, Learning, and Student Support will lead professional learning designed to promote high quality teaching and learning that aligns with NYSED’s Learning Standards, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policy, and Culturally Responsive and Sustaining Education Framework (CRSEF), throughout the Southern Westchester region. The Supervisor of Teaching, Learning, and Student Support will bring an open and innovative mindset, a deep belief that all children can learn, and excellent organization, communication, and project management skills to coach and provide strategic support to educators in component schools and districts. PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:The Supervisor of Teaching, Learning, and Student Support serves as the regional expert in special education. The Supervisor of Teaching, Learning, and Student Support:Develop and lead high-quality professional learning opportunities through workshops, online and hybrid models, embedded coaching, etc.Is an expert in MTSS and using data to inform curriculum, instruction, and professional learning to lead schools/districts through data analysis, self-assessment, and planning.Develops and co-leads a network of special educators across the region.Is current in policies and practices related to professional learning, NYSED standards-based curriculum, teaching and learning, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.Curates, creates, and disseminates instructional resources and materials to support teaching and learning.Identifies and develops new capacity building educational services and programs in response to the unique needs of schools and school districts.Assists teachers in identifying and coordinating instructional programs matching student needs while communicating and promoting high expectations for student learning.Co-leads and supervises our extended team of expert consultants and coaches.Builds/extends meaningful relationships with partner schools and districts.Ensures consistent data collection and reporting of learner feedback, attendance, and program effectiveness to Center faculty and others.Assists with the business and management aspects of the Center (budget, program descriptions, partnerships, evaluation, etc.).Participates in state-wide and other professional meetings.Participates in Board of Education presentations as requested.Fulfills other duties at the direction of the Center’s Senior Director.QUALIFICATIONS:New York State District Administrative Certification (SDA or SDL) REQUIRED.5+ years teaching experience (special education) with additional or concurrent experience leading professional learning and/or peer coaching.Prior experience as a school leader (preferred) with additional or concurrent experience leading professional learning and/or peer coaching.Strong knowledge of NYSED learning standards and curriculums in regional schoolsExcellent teaching, coaching, communication, and leadership skillsAbility to travel to schools and districts throughout the region and occasional to state-wide meetings.Expert in selecting and using technology.Ability to work with field-based consultants/teams.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively on a team.Reports to:Senior Director of Professional Learning and Instructional SupportThe Center for Professional Learning and Curriculum Support SWBOCESIN ADDITION TO APPLYING ON OLAS, TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION PROCESS PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE AT :https://www.swboces.org/JoinOurTeam
