PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Support the Southern Westchester BOCES Mission, Vision, Values, and Goals in all instruction, decisions and actions.Develop and implement a high quality, up-to-date technology education curriculum, which students can apply to their academic learning and their lives beyond school.Promote students’ comprehensive understanding of the uses and application of technology.Design real-life, engaging learning experiences that employ technology and implement units of study aligned with technology standards.Provide technology education instruction to a wide range of students with disabilities at the middle and high school levels.Make program and instructional recommendations for growth and provide input for the Southern Westchester BOCES District Technology Plan.Develop, design, and implement differentiated lessons and programs to address specific student learning challenges.As requested, collaborate with instructional teams in the preparation of student IEP’s and BIP’s.Work collaboratively with building-level teams to support students academically, socially, and emotionally.Collaborate with classroom teachers and related-service providers to identify and provide opportunities for students to explore life and career goals.Collaborate with colleagues in the support of students in their endeavors to maintain satisfactory classwork, homework, and socialization.Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress on a regular basis. QUALIFICATIONS:New York State Computer Science or Educational Teaching Certification.Up-to-Date knowledge and understanding of the New York State Technology Education Learning Standards, New York State K-12 Computer and Digital Fluency Learning Standards, and the Next Generation Learning Standards.Familiarity with National Education Technology Plan.Dual Certification in Students with Disabilities preferred.Experience in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated technology lessons preferred.Experience working with Students with Disabilities.Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.Understanding of the continuum of services for Students with Disabilities, including autism preferred.
