The core components of the Network Technology Consultant as a MIT Lead are: Technical Management, Operational Management and Escalation, Project Management/Planning Assistance, Customer Relationship Management (collaboration with the district), Personnel Management, and Personnel Training and Professional Development. PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Manages and tracks Network Support and Project workflow for assigned districts via Service Now.Acts as Technology Liaison between LHRIC Network Services teams and the District DoT.Researches , evaluates, and recommends a variety of technological products to assist districts in meeting their current and future instructional and administrative needs.Provide input for project planning, performs project management functions and implementation of new LHRIC/District technology initiatives and products into existing K-12 school district environments in collaboration with the district administration and technical staffs.Manages escalation, tracking, communications, and follow-up regarding network technology problems in assigned districts.Acts as primary escalation point for solving chronic or high priority network technology problems in assigned districts; facilitates technical support between the district, centralized LHRIC teams, and field technicians.Supervises LHRIC network staff and coordinates activities with other technology staff within the district.Manages and plans the scheduling of the LHRIC assigned field staff.Manages and tracks technology related maintenance contracts and inventories, for equipment and products purchased through the LHRIC. (I.E. Smartnet, Del Maintenance) Caveats exist based individual district support models. CIVIL SERVICE QUALIFICATIONS:Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and either (a) Bachelor’s Degree* and four (4) years of experience where the primary function is supporting PC based local and wide area networks; or (b) eight (8) years’ experience as stated in (a).SUBSTITUTION: A Bachelor’s Degree* in Computer Science, Information technology, or a closely related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the general experience.NOTE: Current/active certification as a Certified Network Engineer, e.g. CNE from Novell, or a Microsoft Certified Engineer (MCE) may be substituted for six (6) months of the required experience.Must be on a Civil Service eligibles list or sat for the exam given in December of 2023.
