PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Participates in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning.Under the direction of a certified teacher, Provides instruction to students.Alerts the teacher to special needs of individual children.Provides escort and assistance to children as necessary.Helps maintain individual records for each child.Assists teacher in providing whole group, small group or individual instruction.Supports student behavior management.Assists in the collection of data.Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:New York State Teaching Assistant Certification.Understanding of Special Needs Students.Excellent speaking, written, and listening skills.
