PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Itinerant position working with Southern Westchester BOCES students at various locations and within district sites.Provide a variety of research-based strategies to promote reading growth such as Wilson Reading System, Orton-Gillingham Multi-Sensory education approach.Deliver IEP mandated reading services to individual and/or small groups of students.Maintain communication with content area teachers and ensure knowledge of grade-level standards and concepts through participation in team meetings.Develop instructional plans in alignment with students’ Individual Education Plan (IEP) and monitor student progress toward IEP goals.Collect, analyze and share student data both verbally and in writing with administrators, instructional teams, and during IEP/CSE meetings. QUALIFICATIONS:New York State Certification in Literacy (Birth – 6), (5 – 12), or (Pre-K – 12).New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities preferred.Teaching experience in a special education setting preferred.Wilson Reading System Level 1 Certification, PAF, and/or Orton Gillingham Certification preferred.A desire to make a difference in the lives of our students, families and community.A commitment to working with diverse populations of families and students.
