PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Serves as a resource to school staff members on a formal or informal basis regarding speech, language and hearing programs which may include providing Professional Development for staff on speech and language disorders and their relation to student communication and learning;Plans and implements a systematic and evidence-based therapeutic program to meet the individual needs of students with speech and language disabilities in accordance with IEP;Assist and guide teachers in observing, describing and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments; assists in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community as appropriate;Provides information, support and counseling to parents and families when appropriate;Documents and maintain thorough and detailed data and records of the speech and language program provided to each student in compliance with each IEP as well as all local, state and federal procedures.
