Position: Pupil Personnel SupervisorDays/Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8am-3pm & Wednesday 8am – 4pmJob Term: 10 Month (September – June) plus 6 week ESY positionReports to: Executive DirectorStart Date: July 1, 2024 St. Francis de Sales School for the Deaf in Brooklyn seeks a Full-Time Pupil Personnel Supervisor. The Pupil Personnel Supervisor is responsible to coordinate the intakes, triennial reviews, annual reviews, and IEP changes in related services with CSE/CPSE. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESCoordinate meetings with NYCDOE (Intakes, IEP, reviews, etc.)Supervise service providers, support personnel, evaluation teams, and clerical staff in cooperation with the Executive Director.Ensure student files are maintained and updated PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLSNY State Certification in Administration/Supervision, requiredNY State Certification – Teacher of the Deaf, requiredMinimum of Advanced rating on SLPI, requiredPrevious experience working in a Pupil Personnel Supervisor role, preferred PERSONAL QUALITIESWillingness to learn.Demonstrated ability to work in a calm and respectful mannerMaintain a positive, encouraging attitude to motivate othersCandidate must enjoy working with special needs children COMPENSATIONSt. Francis offers a competitive salary commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience. The anticipated annual compensation range for the 10 month program is $75,000 - $122,000 with additional compensation during the ESY program ranging from $$375 - $612 per day. ABOUT THE SCHOOLSt. Francis de Sales School for the Deaf (SFDS) is a nonpublic, New York State supported school for Deaf students from birth through 8th grade located in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn. SFDS offers a Parent Infant Program (Ages 0-3), an Early Childhood Program (Ages 3-5) and a School Age Program (Grades K-8). Students attending SFDS are Deaf, DeafBlind, and Deaf Disabled.SFDS utilizes best practices from current research in Deaf Education.
