The Spencer-Van Etten Central School District is hiring a Long Term Substitute Music Teacher for our music program. Candidates will need a strong background in music theory and musicianship. This position, under the general supervision of the school principal, will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages enthusiasm and excitement for music. Effective classroom management skills and the ability to assess student progress is needed for individual and large group settings. Prepare ensembles for public performance, help develop educational programs and collaborate with other teachers; employ a variety of teaching methods to engage different learning styles and ability levels; and provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals, etc. along with recognizing musical talent in students to encourage participation in further musical studies, such as band or chorus is expected. Preferred candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree/certificate in Music.This position is needed for the 2022-2023 school year.Includes full benefits package: health insurance (or buyout), paid sick and personal time.
