Job Description/Performance Responsibilities Handles all confidential correspondence for the District Superintendent and Board of Education.Drafts Board of Education agendas and compiles materials for board meetings for District Superintendent and Board Members.Records minutes of board meetings and meetings with voters.Makes significant decisions regarding the routing of a large volume of correspondence from local, state, and federal governmental agencies and departments.Performs all secretarial work involving negotiations, third level grievances, arbitrations, and meetings with the various employee groups.Keeps the calendar and schedules appointments for the District Superintendent.Receives, analyzes and prepares replies to correspondence with the community, district employees, administrators in other school districts, and the State Education Department.Maintains a variety of personnel, budget, legal, Board of Education, and other files, i.e., relating to pay, evaluation of staff, budget proposals to Board of Education, etc.Works on special projects as assigned by the District Superintendent.Prepares letters for District Superintendent or Board President’s signature announcing program and budget meetings for component administrators and board members.Reviews and edits Superintendent and Board of Education communications.Receives, records and refers compliments and complaints to the Superintendent and Board of Education.Prepares correspondence for official signatures from the Superintendent and/or Board of Education.Handles all FOIL Requests.Records proceedings of all meetings of votersGives required notice of time and place of every annual and special district meetingAttends all meetings of trustees and keeps a record of their proceedingsSupplies notice of election of appointment of officers to the Town Clerk and to the office holderPrepares registers of qualified voters for all district electionsMaintains all records, books and papers belonging to the officePrepares legal notices for publication as directed by the Board COMPENSATION: Commensurate to background experience.
