Date: July 27, 2026 Posting #: 16982 VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: MAINTENANCE MECHANIC II TITLE: Maintenance Mechanic II QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Candidates must possess considerable experience performing skilled maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting in commercial, institutional, or public buildings. Thorough knowledge of building systems, equipment, and the safe use of hand and power tools are required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and manufacturers specifications to diagnose problems and complete repairs independently. Applicants should have experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs in one or more skilled trades, including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, masonry, or mechanical systems. The ability to prioritize work assignments, exercise sound judgment in diagnosing equipment failures, and work with minimal supervision is essential. Graduation from a recognized trade school or vocational program in a related field and at least two (2) years of progressively responsible building maintenance or mechanical repair experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, is preferred. Promotional candidates who have successfully served as a Maintenance Mechanic I and demonstrated progressively responsible maintenance experience are encouraged to apply.
