Responsibilities include but are not limited to content instruction, IEP implementation and development, assessment delivery, parent communication, staff support regarding student needs, possible Co-Teaching in a content classroom, progress reporting and case management. Must be certified to teach special education grades 6-8.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:New York State certification in Special Education 5-8, 7-12 or K-12.Additional secondary (5-8 and/or 7-12) certification in content areas of either Math, Science, Social Studies and/or English.Applicants must be appropriately certified prior to the start of employment.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:3 Years of teaching experience in a special education environment in grades 5 and above.
