Successful candidates will take on the responsibility of teaching middle School Family & Consumer Science curriculum and various courses in the high school.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:NYS certification in Family & Consumer Sciences.Applicants must be appropriately certified before the start of employment.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:Curriculum Development: Design and develop lesson plans, instructional materials and assessments that align with state and national educational standards, ensuring the integration of relevant content for both MS & HS courses. Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical life skills in subjects such as Sewing, Nutrition, Decision Making, Goal Setting, Interior Design, Child Development & Preschool, Baking & Chef’s Choice.Student Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation, collaboration and respectful communication among students. Individualized Learning: Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, providing additional support as needed. Parent and Community Engagement: Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to discuss student progress and involve them in the educational process.
