The Schroon Lake Central School District is anticipating an opening for a School Psychologist and will be accepting applications for a full-time position for the 2024- 2025 school year. This is a tenure track position. The School Psychologist will provide psychological services to students, including assessment, counseling, and consultation with teachers, parents, and administrators. In addition, the psychologist will be expected to be a strong member of the district’s MTSS team and provide building level support designed to assist students and staff. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to support students' academic, emotional, and social growth.*Full and part time applicants will be considered.Key responsibilities:• Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results.• Provide individual and group counseling to students.• Active member of the crisis intervention team.• Develop and implement intervention strategies.• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support students’ educational and emotional needs.• Be an active member of the building's MTSS team.• Maintain detailed and accurate records of services provided.• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans.• Preschool experience preferred, but not required..Expected Attributes:• Analytical and problem-solving skills• Communication and teamwork skills• Empathy and compassionMinimum Qualifications:• Minimum of a Master’s Degree in School Psychology• New York State Certification in School Psychology (provisional or permanent certification will be considered)***Applicants will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is filled***We're an equal opportunity employer.
