The Special Education Teacher assumes primary responsibility for the day-to-day classroom behavioral management and academic program for his/her students. Education & Experience: BA/BS Degree, MA/MS Degree in one of the following Special Education/Preschool Certifications is required:• New York State Certification - Children with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2) Initial or Professional Certificate or • New York State Certification – Special Education Teacher Permanent Certificate or• New York State Certification – Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2) Initial or Professional Certificate. or• Has a bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education or an associates degree in Early Childhood Education– will be on a study plan to obtain New York State Teacher Certification • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred • Experience with children with autism, severely language impaired and behavior management issues.
