$2,500 sign-on bonus The One-to-One Assistant assists the Special Education Teacher in carrying out social, cognitive, behavioral and instructional objectives set forth in the child's I.E.P. Duties and Responsibilities: Assist child in daily activities. Under the instruction of the special education teacher, provide assistance to student to support learning social skills. transitioning between activities or locations, staying on tasks, completing daily living skills, academic tasks and reducing challenging behavior. Prepare and implement instructional-materials as-directed by teacher. Monitor/supervise student’s mealtime, appropriate clothing, and bathroom breaks. Escort and monitor student throughout the school day, during all school functions including but not limited to transitions, recess, while in special classes, related services and field trips. Write in notebooks and/or translate for parents . Accompany and supervises student to vocational job sites as needed. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. At least one (1) year of experience working with special education students preferred.
