Schenevus Central School is accepting applications for a Special Education Teacher to begin September 1, 2023.The selected candidate will develop, monitor and adjust instruction to promote the growth of our students which includes their intellectual, emotional, social, and physical well-being. Additionally, the successful candidate must demonstrate unquestionable integrity, understand the value of culturally responsive instructional practices, and have a firm belief in the potential of all students. We are seeking someone who is organized, communicates clearly and effectively, collaborates with all stakeholders, and values the versatility and teamwork that is innate in a small-school setting.Our ideal candidate should have; o Familiarity and experience providing instruction and support for students with a wide range of academic and/or emotional disabilities or behavioral challenges. o Effective communication and collaboration skills to engage students, parents, colleagues, and the school community as a whole. o Demonstrated skill in teaching students with disabilities in a variety of settingso Knowledge of multi-disciplinary instructional techniques, research-based interventions for teaching academics as well as behavior, and strategies for collecting data and monitoring academic/behavioral progress. o Familiarity with developing and delivering highly engaging instruction. o Experience with classroom management, IEP goal development, and progress monitoring. o Able to collaborate with other members of the special education team.
