Schenevus Central School is accepting applications for Principal to begin July 1, 2023.Qualifications:• Master’s Degree from a recognized institution• A valid New York State Certification as a School Building Leader• At least five (5) years of teaching or administrationPerformance Responsibilities to Include, but Not Limited To:o Lead with integrity, strength and compassion.o Participation in planning and decision making that support the educational interests of students.o Commitment to the academic, social and emotional success of all students.o Supervise instruction and curriculum.o Complete the Annual Professional Performance Review documents with the required observations of staff and recommendations as needed.o Oversee the safety, supervision and daily operations of the buildingo Willingness to work collaboratively as a member of a professional learning community.o Build strong and authentic relationships with all stakeholders.o Interest in community engagement.o Strong communication skills.o Maintain a supportive and caring learning environment for all students.o Create opportunities for students both before and after graduation, promote student success through focused, intentional academic program, and engender a sense of service to both school and community.o Be student focused, setting high expectations for student achievement, growth and behavior.o Be an organized leader with a “servant leadership” mindset who can see the big picture and bring energy and enthusiasm to the school district and community.o Be passionate about connecting with teachers, students, and parents.o Be excellent at written and oral communication as well as presentation.o Be skilled at identifying problems and brainstorming potential solutions.o Be empathetic and sociable.o Be able to attend school functions after hours.o Motivate and inspire professional staff to achieve high expectations. o Acts as an ambassador for the school to the community. o Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent or his designee.
