The Scotia-Glenville Central School District is accepting applications for a full-time long-term substitute English teacher at the High School. The successful LTS candidate will teach two sections of Media Literacy and three sections of English 9. The LTS assignment will run from September 2, 2025 - June 26, 2026. New York State English certification, 7-12, is required. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes diversity.Design curriculum and lessons that address New York State Next Generation English Language Arts Learning Standards.Complete all tasks as required of probationary English teachers, including but not limited to grading, communication with parents as needed, and providing student support as needed (during and after school).Utilize an array of data to plan instruction and differentiate materials for individual learners.Collaborate with administrators, teachers, related service providers, and parents to understand and meet the needs of students.Interested candidates can apply on OLAS and direct questions to Marissa Gordon, Academic Administrator for English and Social Studies, by email to mgordon@sgcsd.net.
