STEAM CoordinatorScarsdale High School is seeking talented, experienced, and innovative candidates for a probationary (tenure track) STEAM Coordinator position that is housed in our state-of-the-art Design Lab. The successful candidate will have an open mind, innovative mindset, and willingness to continually learn new skills and methodologies. As coordinator, the selected candidate will connect with outside resources and partners to design and provide students with authentic learning experiences. Expertise is required in teaching design processes, engineering concepts, and prototyping techniques in the context of a design, engineering, and entrepreneurship sequence. The ideal candidate will have a creative and hands-on approach to working with students and faculty and expertise with wood shop tools and safety protocols, 3-D printers, laser cutters, ShopBot and other 21st-century tools, as well as familiarity with programming using current software languages. The school spans grades 9-12, and offers a rich and varied educational program to the high-achieving student population of approximately 1500 students. The school community boasts an accomplished faculty and staff, along with an active, supportive parent body. Scarsdale High School focuses on creating a highly challenging, nurturing, and supportive intellectual environment. Candidates must hold appropriate NYS teacher certification, in science, math, art, technology education, computer science, or a related field, and additional related certifications are preferred.
