Applicants should be experienced, child-centered educators who can inspire and lead a team of professionals to maintain the highest standards for our schools. The ideal leader should understand and appreciate the academic, social, and developmental needs of elementary age children, and be sensitive to the need to seamlessly integrate students with disabilities into all aspects of our school community. Candidates should be able to foster collaboration among the professional staff, provide superior staff development, encourage innovation, and build a sense of professional community. Additionally, they should have the ability to supervise school operations and ensure that the building environment is healthy, safe, and conducive to caring and learning. They should also develop and administer a budget that maximizes the benefits of available resources. The building leader should be able to assess the quality of instruction by conducting thorough observations that include both formal clinical observations and ongoing walk-through observations. They should conduct ongoing dialogue with teachers concerning instruction and assessment, while also analyzing student performance by the careful examination of multiple data sources. They should be able to facilitate the incorporation of technology and data to support student learning. Other responsibilities include implementing the District’s APPR Plan, differentiated instruction, NGLS, RTI, and DASA. The selected candidate will collaborate with the administrative team, Curriculum Leadership Committee, and the Board of Education. They should also be an active member in professional associations. Prior administrative experience is required, and a doctorate degree is preferred. Overall, candidates should prioritize the academic and personal growth of our students, while also ensuring a supportive and collaborative environment for our professional staff. General Information & Salary: Lincoln Avenue Elementary is a Pre-K through 5th grade elementary school, with more than 100 staff members and more than 400 students. This is a 10.5-month position with a starting salary of $166,480. Appropriate NYS administrative certification required. Applicants should be available to start on July 1, 2023.
