Position: Speech Language Pathologist (Full Time)Effective: September 3, 2024Classification: Instructional - 10 monthsSalary: As per the Saugerties Teachers’ Association - $62,331- $90,993Immediately Responsible to: Building Principal, Director of Special Education, Director of PPSMinimum Qualifications:Required: Must possess a valid NYS Speech Language Pathologist Certificate Philosophical compatibility with the stated mission and goals of the School DistrictPreferred: Successful SLP Experience in grades K-6 or school settingSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable. Travel RequirementsTravels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Job Summary or Functions:Facilitating student success and growth by assessing student need in order to develop and implement an individualized program. This involves documenting student progress/activities/outcomes, addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. Specific Responsibilities:Organize a program that addresses local school speech-language goals, include students with IEP Goals and/or MTSS goals;Work cooperatively with school personnel to accomplish goals and objectives;Coordinate speech-language services with student services provided by other school personnel;Maintain records of the speech-language program and prepare periodic reports as required;Adhere to established rules, regulations, laws and appropriate ethical standards;Conduct speech, language and hearing screenings. Administer formal and informal assessments;Obtain additional diagnostic information from appropriate persons and available records for speech-language purposes. Analyze and interpret information to make recommendations regarding the need or speech-language services;Collaborate/consult with classroom teachers in the management of speech-language disorders;Plan evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual students and groups of students;Adjust intervention strategies based upon student performance;Manage the facilities, materials and equipment, including assistive technology, necessary to the delivery of services;Adhere to Local, State, Federal regulations and ethical practices;Develop appropriate IEPs based on students’ strengths and needs;Provide consultation to parents, teacher and other appropriate school personnel;Seek the assistance of teachers, parents and others to meet the communication needs of the students;Consult/communicate with non-school agencies to enhance services;Make recommendations and referrals for audiological/medical and related services; and Performs such additional duties as may be assigned by Supervisors.Evaluation: The evaluation of the person filling this position is conducted by a certified administrator according to the current Bargaining Agreement and APPR plan.
