See: The Rye CommitmentPosition Summary:Provide speech, language, and communication support services to students in grades 6–8 at Rye Middle School. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student progress and ensure access to the general education curriculum.Key Responsibilities:Assess, diagnose, and provide speech and language intervention services in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)Provide individual and groups sessions to students with IEPsDevelop, implement, and monitor IEP goals to address speech/language delaysProvide building level speech supports, as appropriateCollaborate with classroom teachers and other support staff to integrate goals into educational programmingMaintain accurate documentation of student progress, evaluations, and required reportingParticipate in IEP meetings, student support team meetings, and professional collaborationCommunicate effectively with families regarding student progress and therapeutic strategiesQualifications:Master’s degree in Speech-Language PathologyNYS certification/licensure in Speech-Language Pathology; TSSLD required for school practiceASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows encouraged to applyExperience working with school-age populations preferredStrong communication, collaboration, and organizational skillsThe Rye City School District is an equal opportunity employer.
