See: The Rye CommitmentPosition Title: Elementary School CounselorEssential Attributes:Proven ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and partner with students & parents in the learning process.Familiarity with the NYSED Framework and benchmarks for socio-emotional learning, as well as CASEL resources.Strong instructional ability in elementary classrooms to lead mini-lessons around relationships, peer conflict, coping strategies, career exploration.Ability to collaborate with colleagues to develop a systemic approach to mental health awareness and prevention in a developmentally appropriate manner.Lead individual and small group counseling sessions when appropriate to support tier 2 interventions.Collaborate with the K-12 school counseling department in an effort to support an overarching social-emotional learning program.Take a strong leadership role in the MTSS process.Ability to effectively collaborate with families and teachers to best support student needs.Certification: NY State Certification as School Counselor requiredThis position includes a highly competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and extensive opportunities for professional learning, continued growth, and mentored support.The Rye City School District is an equal opportunity employer.
