See: The Rye CommitmentPosition Title: Special Education Teacher - ICT ClassroomEssential Attributes:Proven ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and partner with students & parents in the learning process.Experience designing student-centered lessons and engaging curricula that individually challenges students and inspires them to grow.Thoughtful, reflective practitioner that is culturally responsive in their pedagogical approach with a proven commitment to the principles of equity and inclusion.Highly skilled in differentiating instruction to personalize learning to meet the diverse needs of all students.Demonstrated understanding of authentic assessment, data-driven instruction, and methods for gathering and evaluating evidence of deeper learning accounting for learning differences.Experience with the various co-teach models, collaborative lesson planning, and team-teaching.Experience with Teacher's College Reaching and Writing Project and Math in Focus is preferred.Highly skilled with small group instruction.Certification:Students with Disabilities (grades 1-6), Students with Disabilities (K - 12) or Special Education GeneralistDual Certification PreferredThis position includes a highly competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and extensive opportunities for professional learning, continued growth, and mentored support.The Rye City School District is an equal opportunity employer.
