Director of Grants and Funded Programs PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS: The Director of Grants and Funded Programs is a collaborative and student-centered leader who provides visionary leadership in securing, managing, and evaluating external funding sources to advance district priorities and student achievement. This role requires deep expertise in grant compliance, fiscal management, and program evaluation, along with the ability to collaborate across departments to maximize resources and impact. The Director is a highly visible leader who drives innovation, ensures regulatory adherence, and builds organizational capacity to sustain high-quality, grant-funded initiatives. The role offers the ability to directly shape program design, align funding to instructional priorities, and see the measurable impact of grant-funded initiatives on student outcomes. Holds New York State School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) certification Prepares and submits all applications for federal and state funding, including but not limited to Title I, II, III, IV, and related grant programs Proven ability to research funding opportunities, conceptualize program ideas, and write competitive grant proposals from inception to submission Collaborates with the Business Office and the Department of Curriculum and Instruction to ensure proper alignment of budgeting, purchasing, payroll, accounting practices related to grant funds and instructional initiatives Ability to create grant ideas and generate new revenue streams/sources – in addition to managing existing grants Provides leadership and oversight for all grant-funded initiatives, including Universal Prekindergarten and My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) programs Ensures full compliance with federal and state regulations, including fiscal accountability, reporting requirements, and audit readiness Coordinates the development of grant proposals, program plans, and associated budgets aligned with district priorities Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of grant-funded programs and supports improvement efforts Serves as liaison to governmental agencies, private foundations, and community-based organizations to secure and sustain external funding Maintains accurate records, inventories, and documentation in accordance with regulatory and audit requirements Prepares and facilitates all required documentation for state and federal program audits Provides regular updates and an annual evaluation report of all grant-funded programs to the Superintendent Maintains effective communication with district leadership to identify funding opportunities aligned to current and future district needs Promotes a positive, collaborative work environment and establishes strong professional relationships with staff and stakeholders Demonstrates strong technological proficiency to support efficient grant management and reporting systems Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and/or designee .
