Second Grade Teacher The Rome City School District is seeking a dedicated, student-centered, and highly motivated Second Grade Teacher to join our team at Gansevoort Elementary School starting September 1, 2026 . Key Responsibilities: Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with New York State Learning Standards. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of all learners. Use formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student progress. Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes respect, responsibility, and student engagement. Integrate literacy and numeracy skills across all content areas. Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to support student success. Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom expectations. Implement classroom management strategies that support a safe and productive learning environment. Participate in professional development and ongoing learning opportunities. Qualifications: Valid New York State Childhood Education 1-6 Teaching Certification (required). Strong knowledge of elementary curriculum and instructional best practices.
