The Red Hook Central School District is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic professional for the anticipated position of School Business Administrator. This position is a full-time, 12-month administrative role reporting directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking financial leader to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and collaborative school district.A valid New York State administrative certification (SDBL) is required. Salary: Up to $150,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits: Competitive and comprehensive.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and submit periodic financial reports to federal and state authorities, including the State Aid Management System (SAMS)and ST-3 schedules.Respond to state aid claims, verification inquiries, and edit report items in a professional capacity.Generate special reports on district operations for the Board of Education, Superintendent, and state/federal agencies, including ESSA and NYS Transparency Reporting by building.Lead the annual external audit process, including verification of financial statements and footnotes, and assist in drafting the Management Discussion and Analysis.Coordinate the internal audit process and participate in Audit Committee meetings and corrective action planning.Provide fiscal and statistical data to support state and federal grant applications, including IDEA Maintenance of Effort and Medicaid Cost Reporting.Assist in the development of the annual budget, budget presentations, and legal filings.Collaborate on long- and short-term financial planning, including fund balance projections and reserve usage.Calculate and file the Tax Cap in accordance with NYS regulations and respond to audit reviews.Work with local Tax Assessors to determine school tax rates, verify collections, and reconcile levies.Support long-term debt planning, including Continuing Disclosure, bond sales, refinancing, and rating agency communications.Partner with the Facilities Department on capital projects and state aid filings.Oversee fixed asset inventory and ensure compliance with audit guidelines; assist with bidding and procurement processes.Provide financial analysis during contract negotiations, including cost-benefit recommendations.Supervise Business Office staff and conduct annual performance evaluations.Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Personnel & Operations.
