The Red Hook Central School District is seeking a NYS Certified Teaching Assistant to manage the technical aspects of the Red Hook High School’s Performing Arts Center. Must have lighting, sound, and rigging experience and must be present for all events. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong customer service orientation, demonstrating the ability to establish and maintain a courteous and positive rapport with facility users, the community, patrons, volunteers, and co-workers. This role demands a high level of autonomy, responsibility, and accountability, ensuring that tasks and projects are conducted with the utmost professionalism and integrity. Salary as per the RHFA bargaining agreement. Essential responsibilities:Operate, maintain, and safeguard the technical assets of the theater, including supervising the use of all lighting, sound, communications equipment, and the use and maintenance of all stage facilities; Determine the necessary technical support for lighting, sound, staging, and special needs for events and performances presented at the facility in advance of production dates; Operate in-house lighting and audiovisual equipment; Manage performance/auditorium space for school and community events; Oversee technical, safety, and set-up needs, as well as the execution of all programs and activities in the auditorium; Monitor the condition of equipment and perform preventative maintenance; Develop a replacement and upgrade schedule for tools and equipment, and arrange for the repair and replacement within budgetary constraints; Create and maintain accurate inventories of technical supplies and equipment; Develop and enforce practices that ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations of all theater facilities; Responsible for developing and implementing a plan for future growth; Applicants must hold a NYS Teaching Assistant certificate.
