The Red Hook Central School District is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Secondary English Teacher candidate for a permanent probationary position with a start date of September 1, 2023. Certification required: New York State English 7-12 with dual certification in Reading/Literacy. Candidates are considered based on their demonstrated ability to do the following: Establish and maintain a rapport with students and families that fosters a classroom environment conducive to learning and addresses behavioral concerns using a restorative approach;Develop and implement units of study by using the Understanding by Design framework and address skills aligned to the Next Generation Learning Standards;Prepare culturally relevant lessons that are student-centered and address the needs of diverse learners;Conduct and utilize ongoing assessments of student achievement, using both formative and summative assessments;Use technology to strengthen the teaching and learning process;Use systems to maintain accurate records that are visible to students and families;Attend staff and in-service meetings/workshops as required;Actively pursue personal and professional growth opportunities;Promote and abide by school procedures, policies, and directives in administrative and educational matters as established by the school administration and board of education.
