Position: Business Official Pay: Up to $150,000.00 per year Job description: ASSIGNMENT: Confidential, 12 Month Position REQUIREMENTS:Valid New York State SDBL or SBA certification or eligible for applicable Civil Service titleMaster’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field and five years of accounting or auditing experience of which two years must have been in a supervisory capacity, CPA preferred, public selector or non-profit experience preferred; ORBachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field and seven years of accounting or auditing experience of which two years must have been in a supervisory capacity, CPA preferred, public sector or non- profit experience preferred.RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides leadership toward effective business and finance management of the district;Oversees the management of state aid and all required SED submissions/filings;Supervises the implementation of the district’s insurance programs;Supervises the School Lunch Manager;Supervises Business Office staff;Supervises Operations and Maintenance staff;Completes and submits all required financial surveys such as state, local, other districts and BOCES;Supervises the investment and borrowing responsibilities with the District Treasurer;Assists the Superintendent on issues and matters of student transportation;Assists the Superintendent on the initial grievances of civil services negotiating units;Responsible for annual budget development for all district funds;Promotes personal and staff professional development in administrative service and business financial management and operational programs;Supervises the business and business operations and functions of the district;Provides advice, support, and assistance to the Superintendent on confidential matters including, but not limited to, employee contract negotiations;Attends all meetings of the Board of Education and maintains records of the district;Performs related work as required.
