QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma; Possess a valid NYS Commercial Driver’s License Class B with Passenger and “S” Endorsement, with no major violations in the past three years; Previous experience as a school bus driver desirable; Knowledge of NYS Education Department of Motor Vehicle rules and regulations pertaining to school transportation; Willing and able to work with transportation routing software; Able to manage transportation department; Ability to manage multiple priorities and set a personal schedule; Ability to positively interact with parents, students, administrators, and contractors; Meet any other requirements set forth in the Rules and Regulations of the New York Commissioner of Education for this position; Placement on Rensselaer City Civil Service competitive list for Transportation Supervisor; Able to qualify as an Article 19A Certified Examiner; Able to qualify as a School Bus Driver Instructor.
