Position Description: (10 month, up to 20 per diem summer days)Coordinate program activities for the Project AWARE SAMHSA Grant Award through theRensselaer City School District. The position will coordinate with the Project Director, RCSDand LCSD personnel, NYSED, OMH and the project evaluators. The position will facilitateprocesses, create systems of care, identify other systems for which recipients may be eligible,implement policies and procedures to address the behavioral health needs of families. Theposition will assist with the implementation of the overall project objectives and goals.Supervised by the Program DirectorJob Responsibilities:- Coordinate program activities of evidence based SEL learning programs- Coordinate with RCSD/LCSD personnel, NYSED, OMH, Project Evaluators- Assist with implementing trauma informed practice in the school districts- Follow and develop a MTSS model within a system of care- Coordinate mental health training opportunities for the district- Attend training as required- Develop an implementation plan and various data collection with evaluators- Assist with developing a performance assessment plan.- Seek out appropriate community referral resources and systems for the school to access- Assist in implementing MOU’s with community resources- Make appropriate referrals to community-based providers to meet the client’s needs- Manage, organize and submit required project data- Perform other tasks as necessary or assignedKnowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:Computer literacy skills, knowledge of trauma and community resources, ability to communicateeffectively both orally and written, sound judgment, initiative and problem solving skills.Minimum Qualifications: NYS Educational Certification and Bachelor's degree with major course work in behavioral health, public health, psychology, social sciences, counseling or related field,experience in project management preferredDemonstrated cultural/language competency experience/skills with school population essentialExperience designing and implementing SEL programs in K-12 schools or community-based programs
