The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District is seeking a dynamic Special Education Instructional Coach/Transition Coordinator for a one-year appointment. This role provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced special educator to expand their leadership experience while serving as a teacher-leader, instructional coach, and advocate for students with disabilities. This position will partner with teachers and administrators to strengthen instructional practices, improve IEP quality and compliance, and expand transition opportunities for students in Grades 6–12. Key Responsibilities Provide non-evaluative coaching, modeling, and feedback to special and general education teachers to strengthen instruction and IEP implementation. Mentor special education teachers and support effective case management, progress monitoring, accommodations, modifications, and specially designed instruction. Analyze student data and support the development of meaningful, measurable, and compliant IEPs. Develop and facilitate professional learning based on student, staff, and program needs. Serve as an alternate CSE Chairperson and resource for CSE processes and special education compliance. Lead and strengthen districtwide transition planning and services for students in Grades 6–12. Build partnerships with ACCES-VR, OPWDD, colleges, employers, and community organizations to expand postsecondary, career, and work-based learning opportunities. Collaborate with the Director of Student Support Services, administrators, and instructional leaders to continuously improve special education programming. Qualifications Valid New York State certification in Special Education or Students with Disabilities. Successful special education teaching experience. Strong knowledge of IEP development, specially designed instruction, progress monitoring, and state and federal special education requirements. Knowledge of secondary transition planning and services. Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and build the capacity of educators. Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Position Status: This is a full-time, one-year appointment for the 2026–2027 school year. Salary based on the RCSTA contract.
