SALARY: Competitive and contingent upon experience; minimum $120,000 - Posting #22-23-94DESCRIPTION: The Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction reports to the Superintendent and is responsible for managing and coordinating the curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development throughout the District. This position provides the system oversight, consistency, and vision for a majority of the activities related to teaching and learning processes, and facilitates implementation of the district’s mission and goals. The Assistant Superintendent co-supervises Curriculum Content Specialists; develops systematic approaches to improving student achievement based on assessment and data; works with outside agencies to meet all students’ needs; assists in implementing federal and state educational mandates; and will act as a key member of the Superintendent’s leadership team. Previous teaching experience preferred and building and/or district leadership experience required. Knowledge of quality instructional practices, professional development standards, program implementation processes and curriculum design.
