RCS is looking for a dynamic Academic and Life Based Skills Teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning, is creative and engaging in the classroom, and is dedicated to helping all students succeed. Candidates should be innovative in practice, have a strong value in “school community,” and have vision in preparing our students to be civic-minded. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Specialized academic instruction in all areas, combined with job coaching and cooperative work experience component in the RCS High School and local community partnerships. Students may participate in mainstream subjects for special or specific academic classes with support from the class Teaching Assistant or Consultant Teacher Services as specified in the IEP Students in the program will possess significant academic weaknesses in all areas and borderline to mild ID cognitive development and below average adaptive skills. Working with High School - Ages 16-21, 12:1:1 ratio – Special Class Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Principal and/or the Director of Special Education.
