Starting 9/1/22 - Questar III BOCES announces vacancy for a full-time Teaching Assistant position for our Career and Technical Education (CTE) Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Renewable Energies class located at Rensselaer Education Center in Troy, NY. In this two-year program students will learn design, installation and repair of HVAC systems and emerging technologies including solar and geothermal. Students receive extensive training in home energy efficiency and have the opportunity to obtain 10-Hour OSHA Safety Training, EPA section 608 refrigerant handling certification and Universal R-410A Safety training and certification.This position will assist under the direction of a certified CTE Teacher in the delivery of instruction and management of classroom behaviors. Minimum Qualifications: NYS Teaching Assistant certification (or willingness to become certified) required at time of hire. Candidates with experience in a construction related industry are encouraged to apply. Preferred candidates will have experience working with HVAC systems.
