QSAC is seeking dedicated and energetic staff looking to work with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, who will provide direct instruction. We are currently hiring for Teacher Assistants, Special Education Teachers, an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, PT COTA ( Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) and PT- School Based Physical Therapist.QSAC will be hosting an in person event with Hiring Managers that will give you the opportunity to receive employment decisions the same day. It will take place on 7.15.22 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at our Whitestone Day School. Regular work hours at the Whitestone Day School is from 8:00 am - 3:30 pm Mon - Friday ( 1/2 hour lunch). QSAC pursues this mission through direct services that provide a supportive and individualized setting for children and adults with autism to improve their communication, socialization, academic, and functional skillsTeacher Assistants: The starting rate for this position is $15.00 USD Hourly if you do not have TA-1 Certification. As a requirement of this position, you must obtain your TA-1 Certification within the first 4 months of employment. After successful completion of this certification, your rate will be adjusted to $18.00 USD Hourly.Special Education Teacher: Special Education Teachers require NY State certification (Students with Disabilities 1-6 ). Teaching responsibilities include implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEP), classroom management, participation in annual meetings, and completion of required reports. Extensive training and support are provided with opportunities for professional growth and development.Adaptive Physical Education Teacher: We are looking for a dedicated Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher who will ensure that physical education programs are developed and implemented in accordance with IEP goals, behavioral principles, QSAC Curriculum and the individual needs of every student. B.A. or MA Degree in Adapted Physical Education/Physical Education and NYS Certification as a Physical Education Teacher required.Part Time - Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant ( COTA): The Part Time COTA will follow treatment plans/IEP goals developed to improve, develop restore or maintain opportunities for active participation in self-maintenance, work, leisure and play for the students we support. Supervision will be provided and applicants must have current New York State certifications. The PT COTA would work 2-3 days a week on a 8:00 - 3:30 pm schedule between Mon-Fri.Part Time - School Based Physical Therapist: QSAC is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Part Time Physical Therapist (PT) to work with children and young adults. This opportunity is located at our Whitestone Day School and is currently a part-time position, (2- days per week). The PT will provide treatment and develop, improve and evaluate opportunities for active participation in work, leisure, and play for the students we support. Applicants must have current New York State certifications and or licensure.
