Qualifications:NYS School Administrator, NYS School District Administrator Certification At least five (5) years’ experience in educationStrong commitment to students and knowledge of effective classroom instruction.Leadership skills in the areas of curriculum development and school improvement as well as knowledge of the New York State Learning Standards.Immediate Supervisor: Superintendent of SchoolsGeneral Responsibilities:Manages the safety and welfare of students and staff, including visitor management, evacuation and emergency procedures and plans for the daily operations of the building,Provides for the selection, supervision and evaluation of all staff members, as well as various staff procedures, Provides instructional leadership to staff to include curriculum planning and review and recommendations for professional development priorities,Supervises clerical and paraprofessional staff in the performance of their dutiesImplements school policy, enforces the Code of Conduct, and disciplines students Screens, interviews and recommends substitute teachers for the secondary program,Organizes and manages the student graduation program,Develops the annual master schedule in consultation with the guidance director, andPerforms comparable duties of a similar nature as assigned by the SuperintendentSalary: Commensurate with experience and credentials.Additional Information:Current enrollment in the district’s secondary building includes124 middle school students (grades 6-8)126 high school students (grades 9-12)Poland Central School District is a high needs rural school district with a single campus and two “buildings” housed within one physical structure.
