ANTICIPATED OPENING 2023-2024ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS TEACHER - HIGH SCHOOL - (.8) PART TIMEResponsibilities:-Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the New York State Next Generation English Language Arts Learning Standards that cater to diverse learning styles-Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and cultural awareness-Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and to share best practices.-Utilize high leverage instructional strategies to support a lifelong appreciation for reading and writing-Establish and maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues.Key Qualifications:-Motivated and passionate about teaching English Language Arts-Strong background in literature and the writing process-Collaborative mindset, eager to work in a team-oriented environment-Culturally responsive approach to teaching including valuing and incorporating diverse backgrounds-Candidates with experience teaching Advanced Placement courses are preferred but not required-Strong grasp of using technology to enhance teaching and learning-ENL / ICT certified candidates are considered a plus-Strong organizational and communication skillsRequirements:-New York State teaching certificate in English Language Arts 7-12
