Duties: Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates the need for a Communications Director to oversee the School Communications department. Duties will include, but are not limited to:Directs and prepares public information and marketing materials, programs, and projects to support organizational goals.Assists school districts in planning, developing, and executing tailored public relations and marketing strategies.Organizes and implements community outreach initiatives to build positive relationships and public understanding of BOCES and its component districts.Writes and edits a wide range of communications, including brochures, newsletters, publications, and press releases.Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with media representatives to effectively share district news and developments.Supervises, trains, and evaluates communications staff and other personnel involved in communications projects.Supports and prepares the District Superintendent for public appearances and media interviews on key educational issues.Oversees the strategic use of social media and other communication modalities to enhance public engagement.Qualifications: Must qualify through Civil Service.
