Duties:Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates a need for Teacher aide(s) and/or Teaching assistant(s) to work one-on-one in small group settings with students that have behavioral challenges to deescalate crisis situations where the student(s) are acting out; provide program-wide, active response to instructional staff when a crisis situation emerges; complete post event debriefing and associated paperwork documenting a crisis situation including but not limited to situations when students present a danger to oneself or others; and provide turnkey training to staff members and parents on research-based intervention strategies. This position is for our Extended School Year (ESY) program which we anticipate to run from July 3, 2023-August 11, 2023.Qualifications:Crisis Intervention Specialists must hold a Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification.Characteristics Desired:Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to work in collaboration with their peers and in a team-based environment. Effective oral and written communication skills. A commitment to the PNW BOCES mission of service and innovation through partnership.
