Duties: Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES is seeking a Leave Replacement for a Special Education Teacher to provide instruction to special needs students in our Pines Bridge School. Duties will also include developing and implementing IEPs, monitoring and assessing student progress, differentiating instruction per student needs and working in a collaborative team setting. The successful candidate will also maintain regular contact with local school district representatives and parents, perform educational assessments as requested and utilize data to inform instruction. This position is a leave replacement in a middle/high school age classroom serving students with developmental, communication and/or medical challenges who are alternately assessed.Qualifications: Must hold valid New York State certification in Special Education.Characteristics Desired: Ability to supervise classroom team. Experience working collaboratively with therapists and clinicians. Knowledge of the annual review process. Candidates must be highly organized, flexible, and have effective communication, written and problem solving skills. Successful candidates must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.
