The Pleasantville Union Free School District is seeking a Director of Technology. The Director of Technology will be involved in decisions that have significant impact upon students, their families, individual school sites, District staff and the District as a whole. The ability to effectively coordinate services, programs and staff designed to meet the needs of all students is crucial.QUALIFICATIONS:Candidates must hold New York State School District Leader or equivalent certificationMinimum of five years of teaching experienceExperience as a Director of Technology preferredExperience in technology infrastructure management, information technology systems management, instructional support, student management and data systemsPossess excellent organizational, managerial, planning and implementation skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated progressive leadership, flexibility and adaptabilityKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide vision, strategy, and operational oversight in five areas: Technology, Communications, Audio/Video, Data Privacy & Cybersecurity, Integrated Systems & ReportingCollaborate with district administration on the integration of instructional technologies and emerging technologies in and out of the classroomFacilitate the decision-making process for the integration, coordination, operation, procurement, installation and maintenance of software, hardware, email, internet, training, and support for all technologies in all sectors of the DistrictCoordinate and implement the goals outlined in the District’s Strategic and Technology PlansManage relationships and contracts with technology consultants and vendorsServe as the District’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Data Protection Officer (DPO)Manage, develop and sustain the District’s suite of communication toolsDesign, develop and deliver high quality professional learning for staffEnsure that all educators have access to the appropriate tools to develop innovative curriculum, instruction, assessment, learning environments and professional learningObserve and evaluate staff as assignedMaintain knowledge of and communicate current research findings regarding the most effective use of instructional technologyIdentify budgetary needs and participate in the development of the District’s annual budgetAssist the Superintendent of Schools in developing long range and annual plansPerforms other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of SchoolsLetter of interest, resume, certification(s), and transcript(s) must be attached to the OLAS application.
