NOTICE OF ANTICIPATED VACANCY POSITION TITLE: Athletic Coordinator/Athletic Director CERTIFICATION: TBD pending job format The Plattsburgh City School District invites applications and expressions of interest in the role of Interscholastic Athletics Leader/Coordinator. The district is exploring various internal and external staffing solutions for this role, and welcomes outreach from candidates with a background in athletic competition, athletic administration, and/or educational administration. A flexible schedule, necessarily featuring significant evening commitment during sport seasons, is available. Candidates should espouse a positive-experience, developmental, student-focused view of interscholastic athletics, which includes a commitment to students’ social-emotional wellbeing and for preparing student-athletes for life and career. A central focus of this position will be leading Hornet Coaches and cultivating a student-focused interscholastic athletics experience which includes emphasis on social-emotional learning. Strong organizational skills and the ability to navigate interpersonal conflict are important competences for this role.
